Ribbed merino, knit close to the face and the cold. Reinforced at the mouth where the breath freezes. A single red stitch at the temple marks the first run. Made for the people who open the mountain, not the ones who visit it.
Three of the sixty were finished murdered out. All black, the red temple stitch sunk to black with the rest. A one in twenty cut, issued without notice. Three exist. If you are holding one, you already know.
